Doug Duncan is currently the CEO of the Forest Equipment Operator Training School. He led the NC Association of Professional Loggers from 2007 to mid-2014 as Executive Director. Doug graduated in forestry at NCSU and completed his Masters of Science in forest soils and statistics at the University of Florida. He worked in forest research, land management and wood procurement with International Paper for 15 years and completed the LSU Executive Management Program during that period. He also worked as Director of Logging, Safety and Transportation for the NC Forestry Association for 10 years and developed and implemented the first national recognized professional logger training program. His career also included work as regional manager for a state based logging equipment company. Doug is also manager of a family tree farm LLC in Chatham County and enjoys auto mechanics, classic car restoration, and is an avid hunter and flounder gigger. He resides in Cary with his wife Reah, two nearby daughters, and has three energetic grandchildren.
