As the editor of several trade magazines focused on real estate, forestry, bioenergy and finances, I have been writing, editing, maintaining websites and developing social media strategies for my magazines for eight years.Much of that work involves travel to remote locations where I meet up with people who are the lifeblood of the industry. Equipment operators, mill managers, harvesting superintendents and local contractors show me around, generously answer my questions and help me understand the challenges they face as they struggle to keep their businesses in the black.
