Log Max has a long tradition of entrepreneurial spirit. In 1980, Stig Linderholm, who at the time was general manager of the forestry equipment division of the worlds largest manufacturer of forestry equipment, came up with the idea to build a forest felling machine. Stig and six others from the company decided to form their own enterprise and build what would be the largest felling machine of its day. Stig and those six pioneers still work together today at Log Max International headquarters in Sweden.
Log Max flourished in the early days and made heavy investments in research and development. The single grip harvesting head was one of these projects, the first of which went in to production in 1986. The single grip harvesting head showed great promise in logging markets worldwide and the company decided to make this product its primary focus in 1988. Currently the Log Max product line includes six harvesting processing heads the 4000, 5000C, 7000, 7000XT, 9000 and 12000. Log Max heads manufactured today still use many of the original design concepts and allow for a variety of options that permit each head to be customized to specific job requirements. Log Max continues to engineer products that are durable with efficiency, serviceability and productivity in mind.
Log Max products have proven themselves in performance and reliability all over the world. Exports from the primary manufacturing facility in Grangarde, Sweden, account for more than 70 percent of total sales and include the US, Canada, Russia, Brazil, Australia, New Zealand, Germany, Spain, Chile, Portugal, Austria and the British Isles. Log Max heads are distributed through Log Max authorized dealers. To locate a dealer visit our website at
