The House Agriculture Committee has passed its Farm Bill, just one day after the Senate Agriculture Committee passed their bill out of committee. Provisions in both bills include huge wins for forest owners.
We need your help!
Thanks to all your hard work and outreach, we were able to make tremendous headway in these bills for forest owners. But we're not done yet. Tell your members to support comprehensive 5-year Farm Bill legislation that maintains forest owner priorities.
What's included that's good for forest owners?
Many of our forest priorities were included in both versions of the Farm Bill, including:
- Improved access to conservation tools and resources.
- Improved forest market opportunities with access to the USDA Biobased Markets Program.
- Support for programs that combat forest pests and pathogens.
- Strengthened commitment and direction for forest inventory research.
The full Senate will likely begin debating the Farm Bill on Monday, while the House is expected to consider this legislation later in June. We'll keep you up-to-date as the process unfolds.
